headlight lenses turning brown

Hi, New to the board and first post, so be nice. Have a '97 f-250 and the headlight lenses are turning brown and am losing illumination at night. Can the lenses be cleaned or do the have to be replaced?

thanks, Larry

If its the same oxidation as what most plastic Ford lens's get it can be fixed. I just brought my ranger headlights back to new by wet sanding the lens with 600 grit paper. Sand till you get a milky white coloured water on the lens(use lots of water). Next do the same with 2000 grit paper. Sand till it feels ultra smooth.
After sanding polish the lens with metal polish, I used Autosol but others should work. Polish by hand or polisher and remove the excess polish and buff.

Good luck.

Try some plastic windshield cleaner for motorcycles. I've had great success with 'Slipstreamer Windshield Cleaner & Polish'. Visit your local bike hop.
