Ok I'm looking into this Ford truck for my daily driver. Here are the specs.
1976 F-250 Factory Tallboy
351 (freshly rebuilt)
Np435 and Np 205 (rebuilt)
No rust on body at all. original spot welds on body and everything.
Needs exhaust, oil pan seal and transfer case is leaking some fluid. (might be a seal)
Hes asking 7500 for it but I think I can get it for 5500 or 6000. What do you think.
p.s. I'm not worried about gas millage
If seals are leaking and it is rebuilt, I'd be worried about the quality of the rebuild. Seems pricey. But if the body is that good it might not be too bad at $5,000.
Keep it Rubber Side Down!
The Muddin Man
well its just my opinion but i would look around a lil bit more cause i got mine for 1500 and there was no rust on it just one bad spot that took 100 to get rid of but its just my opinion well hope u find one soon
I wouldn't give a penny over 3k for the truck because you're gonna find lotsa little things that need attention and money to correct----he know's it and you may suspect it...i.e.....exhaust=400 for a good system , oil pan=50 and you do the labor , xfer case=(150 to 300)for materials--a complete seal, gasket , and bearing kit from 4Xheaven is about 150 or so , and you supply the labor....ujoints(150) for 6 new factory ujoints and u supply the labor.....ps conversion(rebuilt 78,79 box =300 plus 150 or so for the core,100 for the 14" connecting link , and about 240 for a new draglink to connect both front wheels.....and on it goes.....no way would i pay anywhere even close to 5k......offer him 2.5k and just walk away and see if he can sell it at his asking price.....Let him simmer in his "own juices" as they say.....fd
