I am having what seems to be a loss of fuel. When I get to a steady speed the truck seems to stall for a second and it keeps this up. It doesn't seem to do it when the cruise if on. It accelerates fine, just happens when I reach a steady speed. Is this a symptom of CPS trouble, or something else? It doesn't seem to be the injectors since that should happen whether or not the cruise is engaged. I drained the fuel filter, and have been using Diesel Kleen. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

NO, NOT TRUE!! I've known people's whose have gone out as early as 30k. Mine was 2 1/2 years old and about 60k. Order one from one of our sponsers or buy one off Ebay, but I'd get one just in case. Ford=$185, internet+$90, Ebay= $80 or less. When mine went out I had to pay Ford. My spare came from an internet site.

My CPS was changed at 85,000 after I had some other rough running issues and it turned out not to be the cause but still glad to change it on my turf and my schedule, etc. I got it at Int'l truck for $84.50 and bought 2 while I was there as one is spare now. Mine is a 2000 and with one bolt.....maybe they changed to 2 sometime in 2000 model year??
When my 2001 F250 was young (about 12K old), I was having troubles where it would die out for no apparent reason, and I was able to start it right back up. Did it a few times before I took it to the stealership. They did not find anything wrong with it. Do you know how scary it was to loose your ability to steer and stop a heavy truck while trying to get the truck to the side of the freeway. Boy was I glad it started back up. These troubles lasted about a year before it died at the house and refused to start. I ended up getting it towed to the stealership. They replaced the CPS and all has been well since. Haven’t gotten a spare yet, still on my to-do list. Wife wants me to slow down on spending on my truck and start fixing up the house. She gives me that evil eye every time I tell her what I’m getting.
