My problem is with the plug that goes into the switch on the driver's side. I bought a new switch, but the plug is all cobbled up. I have tried epoxy-ing the thing back together but I can't get it done well enough to make both windows work. Any suggestions?
The plugs seem to get pretty brittle with age. I had the problem with power door lock. I ended up finding one at bone yard. Usually the switch would be gone but the connectors would still be there. But have to be extra careful with them.
Is the connector male or female? You could probably get away with covering the connections with shrink tube, and eliminate the plastic cover altogether.
Thank You 220-k-f-150 for your response. That plug is pretty brittle, my only problem is I live, as my great grandson so aptly put it the last time he was here, "in the middle of nowhere" and the nearest boneyard is over 150 miles away.
Thank You RR4E for your response. It is female, the switch plugs into it. The wires to it are fitted with unique connectors and are inside.
My only hope is to get to a junkyard and see if one can be found.
Oh!, I've been to Ford, might as well go holler down a rain barrel. I queried one of those parts locater websites and got beaucoup replies, trying to sort them out as we speak. Thanks. You see one you holler though, I may asking them for the wrong thing. Jim
