Should it be installed AFTER the MAF? If you're doing a wet system, I guess so.

But dry? Hmm, wouldn't that cool off the MAF delivering more fuel? Which would be a good thing?

I dunno, my brain says; cool off the hot wire, for dense, thick air, get less fuel. Heat up the MAF add fuel since the air is thinner and you don't want to go lean, but Art, I am not sure. If I think cool, moist air=more fuel it makes sense too. I know guys spray their MAF's, so, someone else has to chime in here and give us the dope. Hey Fred ! You say before or after the MAF ?

Good site, I checked it out and saw the pre-MAF is the only way to run a dry shot. I wouldn't go over 75 or maybe 100 but I did see a guy with a 4.6 with a 150 dry shot, and it was pre-MAF. So yea Art, the fogging of the MAF with NOx does richen up the injectors, not vice versa like I was thinkin, Ken

thanks to all! I think im probably gonna get a throttle body spacer, paint it black and hide the hoses under the throttle body cover. Wet system, with a 75 hp shot. I should have it done in the next 3 weeks or so and I'll post some pics of ther system, or if i screw up, a melted engine *knock on wood*. Thanks again

Just my thoughts

Ya i respect the idea of putting nitrous on anything, but i don't thinks its worth it. go with a supercharger.

My 2v V10 has a direct port nos kit on it i have yet to use. you can definatley do it. i was laughed at at the dyno. they told me it couldn't handle a 100 shot. i have the maximizer progressive control. so i can set it to any levels i want. gunna try 25 and 50. but at this point the supercharger would have been the way to go. Nitrous express told me to try the 150hp setting. So i'll have to let you know how it goes in a few weeks when i go back to the dyno.

I don't expect you to change your mind so if you do go with Nitrous. You should call nitrous express. ANd use a plate system, the direct port kit is unnessisary work if your doing the install yourself.

Well I originally was going to get the whipple supercharger...but I very rarely need the power. Like I said earlier, It's mostly for show until someone talks then its all about go. If I use a supercharger...the 8 mpg i get now on a good day will probably go down to about 5 or 6 on the streets. For what i need I can build the entire system including purge w/o bottle for around 275 (wet system, 125ish for dry) Or step up to a whipple or KB for around 3200 plus the extra gas...as much as I'd love it, 2.35 is hard multiplied by 32

Sound reasoning nlgcub, although I've never done either supercharging or nitrous. Thought about it a lot, but not done it yet.

Compared to the numbers for supercharging, nitrous sounds like a good deal, and apparently when done correctly, isn't much more damaging that a supercharger...

Hmm... now I gotta get some time on a friend's milling machine and make a throttle body spacer. DARN you!
