power steering bracket problem

I have an 85 F150 4x4 w/no AC. I went to the junkyard today to get a bracket for the pump and it doesn't fit. It seems as the the main pulley for the engine is too close. Are the brackets different from year to year? Where can I get one besides a JY??????

Would the pulley line up if there was a different crank and water pump pulley? This may be the answer. Otherwise, call the Ford dealership and have them fax you a picture of the brackets for your engine. You can then look around until you find the right ones. The brackets did vary from year to year and engine to engine. There were also a couple of dirrerent pumps used depending on year and on if the A/C was dealer installed, regular, or premium factory installed. And yep, the parts yards are the best place unless someone on the parts forum has them.
