Correct Spark Plugs
I'm doing a tune up.
When the truck was pulled out of the barn before i bought it last summer. Almost one year to the date. It had a new dist. put in and a tune up.
I pull the plugs every now and then to check.
They are TOO white. Not a light brown like they should be. which leads me to believe the timing is too retarted. It's not running lean. I can leave a trail of black smoke if i stand on it.
Right now it has Autolight 45's. I can't remember if the 45's are for the 300 or the 240?
I'm going to get new autolight plugs. New plug wires. The inside of the Dist cap still looks brand new so i'll leave it and i'm going to time it.
Why would all of them be Pure White? and #3 has some cracking along the top of the electrode.
this leads me to believe the combustion Temps are higher than they should be. Retarted Timing?
The truck is almost ready for paint. No rust to fix that's good.
Thanks
DT
