Does anyone know if the sensitivity on the auto headlamps can be adjusted?
I love the feature and at night they are great but sometimes on a cloudy day I wish they would come on a little earlier.
I know I could just flip the switch on but that takes an extreme amount of effort to raise my hand to the dash.
I've read the manual on that just recently, as it's been real rainy around here lately and i believe it's a law in this state to drive with your lights on in the rain (could be wrong). I don't see a way to adjust them, just going to have to flip it yourself.

Yep the peoples Republik of Kalifornia has just adopted that too. Now if your wipers are going, you have to have your headlight on...
No time for the police to investigate assalts, burglary, or drunken driving ( the state hobby), but 'boy, we gonna nail yu if your wipers are on and your headlights ain't'.
It'd be a simple matter to install a relay to power up the headlights when the wipers were turned on.
But just wait...that'll be the next "government-mandated regulation" installed on new-production vehicles!! (and probably the P.R.K would be the first state to mandate it!)
That blinking light is on all F150, whereas the autolamps are not. The autolamp sensor is most likely the large black object behind your rearview mirror, just below the dot matrix F-150 logo at the top of your windshield. It has been my experience that most cars with autolamps have the sensor in this area, but some do have it on the dash. Either way, the sensor will be centrally located, not biased towards one side.
Geeses, The Ford guy here Is the teller of stories I guess..?? They told me the autolight sensor was in the blinkng theft light and the compass sensor was behind the rearview mirror..?? Now I'm really confused... Will the real sensor please stand up..??
Is there anyone out there In Ford land who could FOR REAL tell us whitch Is whitch..??? PLEASE!!!

Per the wiring diagram manual, there's a light sensor, a sun sensor, and the PATS (passive anti-theft system) light emitting diode all contained in the "blinking red light" which they term the "autolamps/sunload sensor". The sensors output goes to the EATC (electronic automatic temperature control) module (for you Lariat types), and of course the autolamps.
Behind the mirror are sensors for the auto-dimming mirrors (senses light ahead and behind), and the compass flux valve (for lack of a better term).
Have an 04 f150 with auto lamps, covered the sensor on the dash and worked for a few weeks.now the sensor no longer works at night, have to turn lights on and off.looks like i made a problem,no more auto headlamps.
a lot of people here are using black marker to "darken" the sensor a little better to help with turning on the lights sooner for those cloudy/rainy days.

people have been covering or coloring in that sensor for years now since the 04 body style came out without issues. sounds like something else like the sensor itself is failed
Dont flame me for this, please be nice lol...but i just bought the truck back in June, and i had no clue some of these trucks have auto headlamps (i've never had a vehicle with them). I've been just turning mine on and off this whole time, but now that i think about it i may have them. Is this activated by turning the switch all the way to the left?
