Ecu

This may be a stupid question but my engine expertise is with carb engines from the 60's!

My Bronco appears to have had its original 351 swapped out for a 302. if I want to go back to the 351 can/should i use the same ECU? are any other parts the same between both engines? (TB, Intake, etc?)

Thanks and sorry for sounding dumb....

No you can't! Assuming you get the whole engine complete- You'll need to get new "Y" pipe or have it re-bent exhaust is at different angle. If you just get a block, Then intake upper and lower is different, Distributor needs changed firing order is way different. I read some where you can use the heads but not sure of that. I had a complete engine when I did my swap from intake to oil pan and all accesories. TB is same as 302. You can use the same engine harness just cover up knock sensor plug and power steering pressure plug.-That's all I can think of at the moment- Bob

u can use thesame heads...u just have to drill the bolts to 1/2..and as for the ecu, ive heard of people useing it. but u might as well get the correct one. you can however use the same wireing harness. the TB is the same, all accessories are to, u'll also need a new flex plate, assuming the bronco's an auto., u can use the upper intake from the 302 and port match the 351 lower..ive heard that gives some pretty decent gains.
