Trade In
The Dealer called me and told my I need to resign the Power of Attorney to release my old car from the DMV I told them I signed the paper work already and have a copy of the Power of Attorney.
They told me unless I fill out and resign a new form the old car will remain in my name
I don't know should I trust them and resign the new form or not to they mite be trying to pull a fast one on me.
The old car loan company has already sent my paper work that the old car is not mine anymore.
What is you'r out look on this before I get my self in trouble.
I know there many tricks that companies try to pull off to screw you over I don't want to get in this postion.
If I don't sign the new paper work what can the dealership do to me or is this there problem.
Don't make it more than it is- sounds like they lost the original that you signed, or it was filled out incorrectly. Your auto loan being paid off and a title transfer have nothing to do with each other- one's with the State, one's with the bank. This needs to be done...and soon. In Oregon the dealership has 10 days to transfer or face fines. In your case, if you don't provide them with the means to transfer the title, they can (and will) sue you- providing a clear title, or the means to get one, is one of the contract requirements of the buyer in all states.
