Power issues

For a while now I've been having issues with my engine bogging down while I'm driving. For a while it was really bad, then went away for a bit. Now it is back but I have noticed a pattern develop. My truck seems to run fine for a while, even getting up to cruising speed with no problem. However, if I have to let off the gas pedal to slow down a little bit the engine starts to jerk and miss. Sometimes it will then surge back to full strength sometimes it'll just keep bouncing. This almost always happens during the daytime, much rarer after dark. I have a code 87 in the KOEO test. I have replaced the fuel relay, fuel filter, spark plugs, distributor and rotor and checked the plug wires.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm hoping that since a pattern has developed it'll help me solve this case. As for my specs I'm driving an 87 Ranger with the 2.3 and manual 5.

I would check the voltage to the pump when it's happening. An easy way would be to hook a volt meter at the inertia switch and then you can check when driving.

That does sound like something I outta try. What would be the best way for me to test that with a voltmeter; how should I hook it up?
