ticking noise

There is a ticking noise coming from either the engine or the trans. I have a 97f150 flareside,automatic. The ticking sound only happens when I pull off.It seems to happen only when the trans. is in first gear. Any idea on what this could be.
This is the first problem that i have had with my truck and I am concerned.Also the ticking noise doesn't happen in any other gear.
