can figure out problem, need help

My truck is a 2000 4.6 liter and my problem is... occasionly when i step on the gas pedal my truck will not accerlate. It will hesitate for a second or two and then all of a sudden it kicks in and i take off strong. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you

You may try cleaning the MAF first. Have you scanned the computer for codes?
How old is the fuel filter?
