Anyone done the 10K mod on a '95? I can't see the injection pressure sensor and it apears to be on different places on different year trucks. Thanks in advance!
What exactly is a 10k mod? And if you use it, does it cause defueling on the 95 and 96 models? Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks
In a nut shell.....you are spoofing the PCM into thinking that the injector oil pressure is 200 psi low, and it in turn increases the pressure by 200 psi. You are doing this by putting a 10k ohm resistor in parallel with the resistive sensor. This increases throttle response because your getting more fuel in a shorter time. It tends to make the engine idle rough, so it is recommended to have it on a switch, so you can turn it off when not needed. It has been reported that it tends to compliment the Superchips tuner, increases low end power to a degree, and some increased fuel economy has been seen.....but others don't see any increase in MPG at all.....or very little. I don't have any info on how it will work on the older trucks......that will have to be done by someone else. Hope this helps.
OK, 10K mod is in on my '95. Seems to run with slightly more power and throttle response. Going up hill she climbs harder. Did not notice any more of a rough idle, but it feels like it takes longer to come down from the power to idle mode. Filled the tank up today and will watch the fuel mileage and update here when I fill the tank next.
