Does this sound like an IAC problem?
Does this sound like an IAC problem? I will be at a traffic light waiting to make a left turn, I will wait maybe a minute or two until it’s clear and begin to make my left turn. On acceleration the engine cuts for a fraction of a second and then continues to operate normally. What’s odd is it only happens during turns especially U-turns. This may be a steering issue too since my steering is a little funky. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe
So coming off idle to a partial throttle, a bad IAC could cuase a temporary lean condition resulting in a stumble.
Or, a bad linear potentiometer, or feed back device, could tell the PCM the IAC is open when it is not and then the PCM will add more fuel causing a rich condition and a slight hesitation.
Other things to consider are fuel pressure regulator, bad plugs/wires...anything that effects A/F mixture or spark delivery.
Not sure what a left turn has to do with it.
Key here of course - any CEL or codes in memory? Computer code readers are simply pure gold in diagnosing these "newer" cars.
CHeck out this sight for much valuable information on Ford EFI systems http://fordfuelinjection.com/index.php?p=39
