Tranny fluid: Drain or Flush?

What is your opinion? I am getting ready to drain the fluid and replace the filter. Anybody know what the Ford part number is for the filter on an '03 PSD 7.3L automatic?

if it were me man i would get it flushed to get all the stuff out. but i hear you might need to take the pan off to get the few pieces of metal that the tranny might of spit up.

There is a good article in the Tech Articles section of FTE that shows how to flush the trans yourself. I've used that method several times.

I just did the drain on my 2002 F-350 yestreday.
I bought a Mag Hytec deep tranny pan and replaced almost 15 Quarts of Mobile 1 ATF.
The tranny pan came with a new filter, I will look for the filter p/n for you
my truck is a 7.3 4x4 with the 4R100
