OK, I'm going to do it - 3 gauge pillar pod with EGT, engine temp, trans temp PLUS 3 gauge pod above the radio with boost, oil pressure and ammeter, Autometer Z series.
Mine's '97 F350. Do I need an electric or mechanical coolant temp / oil pressure gauge?
Does anybody know someone to install them (that isn't an idiot) in the south Austin / San Marcos, Texas area?
I would do it myself (except drilling the exhaust manifold, I'd rather have that done by someone who knows what they're doing), but I have a lack of time problem.
Well, I hope I'm not an idiot... I'd go electric on all the gauges, the temp gauges will have a thermistor and the oil pressure gauge will have a transducer. I know how to install if you need help, but I'm on the NW side of San Antonio. The Autometer pyrometers come with a clamp style thermistor (or thermocouple) that goes in the exhaust pipe after the manifold but still pre-turbo. Very easy to install, no tapping is involved. If you want leave me a PM and I'll get you my phone number if you have any questions.
sounds like it will be a nice setup when you are done.. i think i'm going to add oil pressure and voltmeter to my setup... those are the only two i would like to have and don't...
