body swap on 76 4wd frame

i just bought a 1976 f100 4wd shortbed, 360, 4 speed, married transfer case. dual tanks, power steering, power disc brakes. the truck is rusty and needs a new body and i was wondering if the 65-66 body will swap and the difficulty in doing so. i have the 65-66 shortbed body and am fairly sure it would be difficult to find the bed for the 73-79 so am considering the swap. thanks. jim

Anything is possible, it just depends on how good you are at fabricating. It isn't as bad as grafting on a Torino body (which I have seen) -hehe

Thanks for using FTE!

body swap on 76 4wd frame

I am looking for something fairly simple. remove the body from the 76, sandblast the frame, put the other body on without too much trouble. thanks. jim

body swap on 76 4wd frame

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 08-Jan-03 AT 09:10 AM (EST)]The 65/66 cab should flop right on there. The 64 and earlier WON'T bolt on without mods.
The bed bolt holes may not line up, but that's not a BIG deal. (I'm not sure about that) Good luck,
