4.0L Chip
I have a 1996 4.0L exploder xlt 4-door and I would like to get a chip. Gas milage is a must, it doesnt have to be better but the same is a must. I also dont mind a HP increase either. So name perfomance chips that you have used, price, ease of use, and HP and Gas statistics.

Chips won't do anything for your mileage. They'll require premium fuel for the most power, though some power can be obtained with 87 octane. At best, you'll gain 1-2 mpg with a premium fuel tune, and gain no mileage with an 87 octane tune. I've been programming the Diablo chips for several years and the SCT for about a year. Both will do the job well. Explorers and Rangers tend to do well with power and a good tune on a chip considering the overall power to weight ratio. www.motorhaven.com

I've got the jet performance modual on my '01 sport trac 4.0.,mileage is deffinately better on the highway,I've also installed a k.n. cold air intake system,and a flowmaster cat back.,Performance has greatly increased.....
