It is a easy switch procees to. I changed out my electric sport mirror in my 1999 for the electric towing mirrors. Was a direct replacement. if you go with a heated mirror with turn signals on it then you will need to add some wiring.

Also try www.cheapfordparts.com. Its a dealer that sells ford parts at a discount only online. I got The Ford power telescoping mirrors for my f-250 there for approx $285.00 i think.

I think you two need to put this deal together. If you don't, I would buy a later model year than the 2001 mirrors. I say this because I have an '01 and I wish I had the later ones. Not for the turn signal, but because they fold up forward and backward. The 2001 mirrors will fold forward, but only once if you get my meaning. I bought a replacement for my '01 on eBay for $28.00. If you are patient, you can usually get a smokin' deal there.

Ebay has tons of mirrors on there all the time. I have had good luck with Ebay. I didn't know that about the 01 and up mirrors folding both ways. That is something I have worried about when backing into tight spots like the ambulance bay at work. That would sure be messy hitting the wall with on of my mirrors.

I just took the powered sport mirrors off my truck ('03) and put on the TTs. I've got the sports for sale in the local trading post paper.
I got the original Ford TTs. If you're buying off ebay, make sure you get REAL Ford mirrors. Others have said the cheap ones are just that--CHEAP.

i think i would like to get them local for a couple reasons, first i would like to sit in a truck that has them to see if the reason that i don't like the tow mirriors effects these or if they are any better. plus if i put them on and don't like them i can switch back, also know one has said for sure if they are a direct exchange fit or not, thanks anyways.

Yes, I can speak from experience, the 2001 TT mirrors will fit the newer trucks. I swapped out my sport mirrors for TT mirrors and read the ad on ebay saying that they would fit 2001-2005 trucks. They are evidently 2001 TT mirrors because, they don't fold both directions. Didn't know that until I recieved them and now am stuck with them. I am still wanting telescoping TT mirrors for a 2004 XL 250. I don't need the power or heat, ect. Also have the sport mirrors too. Just be real careful about what your buying. Wish I hadn't been so quick on the gun and listened to the suggestions here a little more.....
