New member - hello!!
Hello to all you Ford enthusiasts. My name is Bob and I have been a Ford truck owner since 1980 when I bought my 78 F-150. It ran perfectly for many years until my son found the rear end of a dump truck in 1990. Fortunately the front end collapsed as it should and my son and his skiing buddy were uninjured. I partsed it out and as far as I know that good old 6 is still puishing a truck around.
I replaced it with a used 88 f-150 4x4 which is still running after 144000 miles. I just replaced the fuel pump in the rear tank (and found out why the fuel gauge hasn't worked in years) and it runs like it had 5000 miles on it - it is just broken in. I now also own a 2000 f-150 4x4 which has the 7700 package. It really rides like a truck!!! Perhaps a bit too much of a truck for my needs, pulling an 18 foot boat and hauling an occasional load of topsoil. It's ABS light is on but that's another story for another forum.
