Synthetic oil ??????

I just changed my 6.0 to synthetic oil. The only oil I found was 5W/40W. Is this the only way to buy synthetic oil? And is it ok to run 5W/40W during the summer months? Thanks !!
P.S Also which cetane do you use for summer? Grey or white bottle? And how much do you add to 30 gallons? Enough for a 4 cetane increase or a 6 cetane increase? Any suggestions? Or what works for you? Thanks again!!

I had the same question the other day and was told to go ahead and run the 5w40 full synthetic year round.

I use Mobil Syn. 5W40 year round, no problems. Amsoil makes a heavier Syn., 15W40. I use gray Powerserve, 1 oz. for 3 gals., double that for max cetane boost (6).

Yeah Baby!!! And that oil seemed awfully thin. But the truck runs smooth with this synthetic oil. We will see if it improves mileage.
