Bad Relay?

Drivers side window works at random. When doesn't work I hear clicking under the dash. Is this a bad relay?? If so anyone know where this relay is as opposed to me sounding it out. Is it necessary to replace it? Or is it just sticking or something. Or is this not a relay problem at all? Oh yea, when we bought it had same problem, deal was that the guy fixed it if we were to buy it. He replaced the switch....twice. Bad relay whole time hopefully?

Have you tried beating on the door panel when it sticks? The motor could just have a bad spot.

I'm thinking it has got to be something in that door panel, because its only the driver side effected and the control for passenger window on the drivers side panel works. What would be a fix if it was the motor?

It hasn't worked for 3 days now, maybe something finally broke. What do you mean by the motor might have a bad spot?

get yourself a volt meter and test to see if any juise is getting to the motor. If so, and the window doesn't move, you probably need to replace your motor.

Not sure how different the '97 is compared to my '02, but it's pretty simple. Carefully pry the plastic cover off of the upper rear of the door. carefully pry the cover out from under the door handle and pop the windor switch panel off. the remove all exposed bolts and lift the door panel up, not out.

Thanks, got it. One thing I noticed, not sure if this will help or not, but there are two clicks, when i try to use the window. One right after the other. This is seperate from the normal clicking of the switch.

I would like to know what the problem was when you figure it out. I have one doing the same except it the passanger side. The clicks I hear seems to come form inside the door though.

I got the door panel off but didnt really have enough time to get to anything. Will I be able to reattach the layer of insulation on the door after i pull it off or no?

my insulation just came off the door with the plastic panel. I believe it was glued to it. If yours does come off, just get some spray on epoxt glue and reattach it. Or you could splurge and get some dynamat insulation to give you more sound deadening. But it's not very cheap...
