question from noob...

I'm sorry, I've searched all over this forum as much as I can, and can't find the answers to my questions. I have a '99 F-150, and was thinking of changing from my 16 inch tires to something like the 18s on the Lightning. Would it be worth the trouble, or is it a huge hassle to do? Any advice would be appreciate, thanks!

No trouble at all. I've got 18in American Racing rims on mine.

Appreciate the reply. So you don't have to worry about brakes or anything like that? Surely it messes with the speedometer some? How about how slow it 'feels'? I read something about that, too, but the information didn't make a lot of sense. Thanks!

If you use lower profile tires that have the same overall height, the speedo won't change. If they are different, you can get a tuner, like a Diablosport Predator that will add power and let you make changes when you change tire sizes and/or gear changes.

My truck came from the factory w/ 235/70/16. I put 255/55/18 on. There is about 1/10 of an inch difference in height. Next time I get tires, I'm putting a 285/50/18 on the back, it is about 1/4 taller.
