Our family friend has a 01 Expedition with over 265,000 miles on it. We live in bad inclimate weather. Winters are the worst up here. This truck is so clean when you look at it you swear it has 80,000 miles. I love Ford and this is why I buy it.

Where does he drive? In Canada we encounter a lot more on our trucks. i spend the winter in more slush and salt and by spring pieces are falling off.

2009 Lincoln Executive in the Fleet

2009 4.6 Lincoln Executive. 580,000 and the car runs and looks great. The driver's seat could use some new springs. Leather, ride and smooth running car. Fleet mechanic says it'smostly original

I have two 5.4's running in E250's, one each 2000 & 2003 each with over 270K miles, both running pretty good and reliable to date.

Also have a '05 E350 with Ford reman'd 5.4--the previous engine replaced due extremely low hot idle OP---better to replace on my schedule than let it die on its own at some very inconvenient time.

The van's forum has one member who regularly runs a fleet of 5.4's upwards of 450K miles in people mover vans, mostly road miles.

Just bought my first 4.6. glad to see folks are pulling huge numbers of miles with these.. only 75k on mine so far. Would be interested to know if most folks with high miles stayed with 5w20 or switched to something else.

'04 4..6l

I've got an '04 Explorer with the 4.6l. It has 203,000 miles on it, still running good, despite the noisy lifter. These are the Golden Years for this beautiful girl. She gets treated very nicely in her retirement. No demands, other than to take me to work and back five or six times a week. Maybe 15 miles a day. A good life for my dependable old girl! I'll tell you what, though, she's the BEST vehicle I have ever owned for driving in snow! Just Awesome, she is!

We have a few of these engines as work truck. One of our 5.4 has 450,000 on it, another had over 400,000 before it was mistreated by a transmission shop. The 4.6 had 350,00 before it was rebuilt.

We have a 2001 expedition 4.6 with over 371,000 miles on it. Never had a water pump or any hoses changed. The transmission still has the original fluid and filter in it. My theory is as the motor wears, I have increased oil weight. I am now running Castrol 20w50 with no leaks or consumption. I have always used castrol for over 45 years in all my vehicles. This vehicle is being driven everyday by our son because his sicko 6.0 is down. We also have a 2012 King Ranch Expedition with 146,000 on it and I’m still using 5w20 castrol syn. I change oil every 3500 miles in all vehicles. Oh yea, I run full strength antifreeze in the 01.
