I just put some ABS chrome door handle overlays on my 2005 XL. These were sold as Putco brand on eBay. However, the parts I received don't say Putco on them anywhere. Instead, they have "Wellstar" molded inside. From what I can tell, Wellstar is either a Taiwanese company (www wellstar ttnet net, you connect the dots) or a European plastics joint venture.
If anyone has any Putco chrome ABS parts areound, could you check the back and post what you see?
Hi Guys - new to this threads, just a FYI, Putco contracts with Wellstar to make the majority of the chrome trim sold under the Putco name. As a large distributor we get the same complaint over and over about the Wellstar imprint on many parts and piece.
These are Putco goods and Putco stands behind them 100% for any defectives with a life time warranty.
We have processed warranty exchanges that are some 3-5 years old with the Wellstar and no problems at all.
Putco is one, if not the only, company to lifetime warranty chrome, so that is saying something about the quality of the item.
For those judgemental folks, call Putco Sales and ask directly.
I believe you and think I remember seeing it on some I've done. I tried to use TFP instead of putco because the TFP is SS and I like Stainless better than chrome. It's not uncommon at all for a company to use another's product as their own. White box is a regular thing in the aftermarket.
