no there is no problems with the block, and about the only thing to watch for is you can't use an earlier internal balanced crankshaft in them due to the longer cyl walls and the earlier cranks having a larger counterwieght.
The D9TE blocks work really good for strokers because of the longer cyl walls better support the piston with the longer strokes, and most all of the stroker cranks have smaller counter weights like the later factory cranks so they fit just fine. I am using a 79 block for my stroker race engine using a 4.3 stroke crank and didn't have to do any clearencing.
