i have a 1975 ford f-100 4x4 and was wondering if anyone new where i can get a conversion kit for disk brakes or knew of what parts i can find at a yard to swap to keep from killing my pocket book.
i have been following this forum for a while and you guys rock!!!!!
i have heard that in order to do this you need to find a truck with the same axle as yours and get everything from the spindles out. this topic was discused a couple months ago i will try and find the link. and post it later.

I made the switch on my 75 F-100 years ago and the most logic way I could find was to by a wrecked newer truck and install complete front end. And while I was at it I changed the pile of crap hydraulic steering to a real gear box. Now the single speed transfer case that came in F-100 was also another story. I swapped it out with new t-18 transmission. What ever you want to know about a 1975 F-100 I can probably tell you.
i found that site that sells the disc brake conversion kit for dana 44 front axles on broncos and f-150. i might give them a shot as soon as i can afford it if i cant find my dana 60 axles first for a good deal. hope this site helps. www.completeoffroad.com

thank you guys for the help, its great to talk to guys that know there stuff and have paved the wild frontier before me.Willard i would like to hear more about your truck conversion and what it took my email @ msubzeroart(No Email Addresses In Posts!)
here are spme pages that go into detail about the conversion on a bronco. but it is the same on a f-150. they basicaly use chevy blazer spindles with chevy calipers and ford hub assy's, rotors and wheel bearings. just remember they are chevy parts but a dana 44 axle is a dana 44 axle no matter what kind of truck it is under.
after 2 hours of playin on the net i found this all ford conversion useing all parts off of a ford truck.
i guess it is just a boreing friday night for me but hey after reading thse i am gettin the urge to do this to my 75 along with the full power steering swap.

I have a similar question in the Axle section titled "Drum to Disc on D44."
There I've asked why Chevy parts? What's the advantage? etc. Especially if you have to remember years down the line that you have the Chevy calipers.
Mainly, I just thought I'd let ya'll know about the other post. It may be worth reading.
one thing you have to remember is a dana 44 axle is a dana 44 axle weather it is under a ford dodge or chevy. the axles dont make the truck, the make of the truck is what makes it.
you may want to make sure that your 15" wheels will fit around those rotors and calipers, otherwise you may be in the market for some tires and wheels too. Good luck!
