Bleed Cooling system?

A little while ago i changed out as much coolant as i could in my ranger. I noticed that i took out alot more than it took back. i just reasd somwhere in another thread about bleeding air bubbles. Is this necessary? And if so how is it done? Every now and then I will have to add some coolant to the burp tank but that may be normal. Its a 96' 2.3L with A/c.

When you added the coolant did you add it from the top hose.....this is the only way I know how to fill a ranger 2.3/2.8/2.9/..
I hope this helps

Using a thermostst like a MotorCraft, with a air bleed valve, & the bleed valve installed up, & parking the vehicle on a incline with the radiator on the high side will help it burp.

I also "milked" the radiator hoses when I was refilling to help it burp.

Be shure to watch on the recovery tank & keep it topped off.

Also make shure the overflow hose connection at the radiator is TIGHT, or it could suck air in there after the engine cools down.

Cowboybilly9mile had this problem after installing his new radiator. His fix was to install a hose clamp on the recovery hose at it's radiator connection point.

I just filled the system back up at the radiator cap. Tomorrow i will try to add some more coolant through the top hose. i will also check the line to the recovery tank. It has been about a month since I did the fluid change and i havent noticed any problems, i thinks its ok. I just wanted to be sure. Thanks for the help.
