Torque specs...
Hey i need a little help whith some torque specs. I just picked up a 3.73 posi D60 for my 64 but i need to know what the wheel lug nut torque and the U-bolt torqes are so i can swap it in. Thanks for the help guys.

1/2 inch X 13 thread OEM U bolts are 60-70 lb/ft staged & check after 100miles
9/16 inch X 12 thread OEM U-bolts 95-115 lb/ft staged & check after 100 miles
these above are for the spring to axle housing "U" Bolts
U-Joint U-Bolts are:
5/16 inch dia OEM trunion U-Bolts 15-20 lb/ft
3/8 inch dia OEM trunion U-Bolts 35-40 lb/ft
OEM 1/2inch diameter lugnuts 60-70 lb/ft stagger & stage -check after 100 miles
These are from a FoMoCo OEM Factory Service Manual, Vol 1, groups 10-17, Chassis

A trick I always use is, when your tightening the U-bolt they seem like there
getting tight, but if you look at the loop side, some times they don't seat
up to the bottom of the rear end. So as the nuts start to get tight and the
U-bolts are not pulling up to the bottom of the rear end, (tap with a hammer
on the loop end) and it will tighten more and more, untill the nuts pull all the
way down, then torque to spec! Thought this might help!
