Well, let's just say things were pretty quiet at work tonight. I searche dthrough 6 pages of FE stuff on ebay. There's some interesting items listed. And, it's a bit distrurbing that prices for FE stuff appears to be going up just since I've been watching it over the last 3-4 years.
some interesting things I found:
1. cast iron shorty headers are now going for over $600, auction not even done yet.
2. there's a listing for 10 timing pointers
3. (Russ) there are a lot of heads, from mild to Tunnel port
4. a 6 pack, triple duece, intake with carbs in great shape, $2000
in short. ebay is a great place to find that obscure FE part. But, be prepared to pay for it!
Yeah I know what your saying Greg, FE prices are starting to get real crazy!! every time I buy a piece for a 390 and then look at what the same piece cost for the Big motor...Makes ya wanta cry...
I saw that Tripower set up.... Yep depending on condition $1500 to 2k is what there getting?? Geeeeeez!!
Yea I saw the same tripower auction. Prices sure have jumped. You see any highriser heads? I'm looking for a set if anyone happens to come across them.

Thanks I'll give him a shout. I'm just starting to collect stuff for a HR. I had one long ago I bought complete for $500. If I could only find a deal like that again LOL!

I saw a guy trash can a pair of the shorty cast iron headers once.
BEAR, don't even talk about trash can.......when I retired in Sept, one of my goals was to clean out all the crap.......most of it from the early 60's....you wouldn't believe the stuff I **** canned, I didn't know anyone into big block stuff...my son turned me on to this site..........story of my life........he made me save enough to build one more FE...to go into our 66 F250

My wife hates me for all the stuff I keep and about evey ten years I break down and throw stuff out. Why is it I keep it for ten years and never need it, then throw it in the trash and 2 months, late guess what I need and end up buying another one?. Never fails. I quit racing boats in 1993 and last year i finally either sold, gave away or ***** canned every thing left over. Then the starter dies on my ski boat and I spend $240 for a new one, I only sold and gave away a half dozen of the stupid things last year.
NO high riser stuff around here!!! That stuff is hens teeth and besides I'm the near the ONLY guy running an FE anymore to boot!!!
I know some guys that still run HR heads, but don't think there are many spare parts laying around their place. That stuff is too expensive to have ALOT of it!!
