Alternator Question
Pulled the alternator on my 94 4.0L Aerostar. The brushes are shot, and I can't get them till Tuesday afternoon. Could I put the alternator back in the van, belt it up, with the wires taped back and make short trips in it? This would be under 12 miles with no accesories running. I have a trickle battery charger I can put on the battery.

You can try it but if it gets low on juice it will die and then you are stranded I would have another battery with you.You might think you dont have any thing running but there is a lot of electric running all the time.
