Is this temp a problem?

1976 0r 77 f150 4x4 running at 210-220 degrees while idling and driving for extended periods in 1st or 2nd gear. The thermostat for this vehicle is 195 degrees, which i replaced. I am not sure at what temp i should be concerned about the truck overheating and/or being damaged. I have installed an aftermarket radiator fan that has helped keep the temp down a little, but it still gets close to the above temps.

by the way, the engine is a 300 six, w/ a 4 speed manual

pls advise, thx

220 or less I wouldn't be too concerned with. DO you have a fan shroud on it?

i would definatly get a fan shroud it what makes the fan pull air through the rad. insted of just swirling the air around. and i would say at about 230-240 start to worry
