Tips or hints or information?

The vehicle I have now is my dream truck. It's, or at least people around here(Myself included), a classic. At first I was just happy saying that I owned a classic. Then I started to get the itch and I scratched it, meaning, by the end of August...I'm starting a complete restoration from the ground up. Anyways, here's what I drive:

1979 Ford F-150 Custom. I also have a story behind it that I would like to share, so please bare with me.

I'm the third owner of this truck. The original owner lived in South Dakota and it came from the dealership(This was a custom made package, or so I'm told), straight off the line, with a 390 sitting pretty underneath the hood. He ran the truck for a few years, and then bought himself a '66 F-100. He decided to make changes and dropped the 390 from the '79 into the F-100. He then had a rebuilt 351 Cleveland motor(A rare motor to come across or so I'm told)that he put in it. He finally sold the truck to the second owner.

The second owner ran the hell out of the truck, and then let it go to buckets when he moved to Indiana. He eventually put a 302 motor in it and the truck basically...gave up. It was running, however, she didn't want to play when I finally purchased the truck close to a year ago. The 302 engine was shot.

I had a re-built 300 inline 6 motor laying around and I dropped it underneath the hood and that's where she sits. Now, I'm sure all of you know, that a 300 motor is a small motor but the darn thing can get up and play. Mostly, though, I put the motor in because of the fact that they're almost indestructible.

When I bought the truck I noticed holes in the floorboards. After some research I found those holes were caused by the drive-shaft. I dug a little deeper and found that the original owner had this custom made package, however, an 8 inch rear-end. How you can have a 390 motor but only an 8 inch rear-end? It doesn't make sense. Well after looking it over after I bought it...I noticed a Dana 9 inch rear-end.

September 3, 2005. That Saturday will be the day that I dive fully into this project. Plates and insurance will be dropped on that day. I've been doing a little tedious things to it now. But I guess I'm asking for any tips or hints on for this seventeen year old Ford freak. This is my first full frame restoration and this dream truck of mine needs a lot of work. I hope somebody has some hints or tips.
