Got HP, need Torque

How would be the best way to get more low end torque out of my 96 302? i have plenty of mid and top end, but no low end......I couldn't even chirp the tires if i wanted to. I have a flowmaster 2.5" and I also have 31" tires withe a 3.55 LS rear. Truck has 152k on it. It has also had a lower end knock for about 20k now, only does it when the oil gets warm though, and oil pressure is fine. I use about a quart every 3k.
Any advice is welcome

What type of tranny do you have?

Although this doesnt create trq, it just makes the engine work easier, Put some 4:11's in the rear, you are asking a lot for a high mileage motor.

Pull the 302 out and substitute a 351W. Your 302 is about to toss a rod.

Yea...But not with a 4R70W behind it!!.....new trans = more money

your motor sounds tired, might be time for a rebuild. gears are an excellant idea. cam swap to lower powerband.
