mass air performance 302
Its personal now, I am going to win the fight against my truck. And in the mean time, I might as well beef up my mostly stock 302. So I need GT40p heads, an intake setup, not sure which one. Any suggestions? Something that works well with a MAF, and has the best flow possible. I need a MAF kit, I would rather keep the price down, so if I have a wiring diagram, I can make anything work. I plan on doing a different cam, Its a manual tranny so I'll get a pretty wild cam. but I want all the parts bought before I do any work, and I'm just going to do it in a weekend. So what intake should I get, and should I just go to a junkyard a buy a computer and harness, or ebay? lets say I get a lightning intake, how does the wiring harness hook up to that? Just need a little direction before I go waste my money
Also planning on new axles. I want a solid front axle, so any suggestions on parts? axles? what really needs to be replaced for that. Thanks guy. Talk to you all soon.Timothy
For MAF, you can either buy the $600-$650 kit or you can make it yourself. Get a mustang computer, preferably A9L, and get a wiring diagram (Haynes manual has good ones), wire it up. Shouldn't be that bad, and you can use your original harness to start with. If it were me, I'd be wiring it as it's layed on the truck. That way I get each sensor wire in the right length and run the way I wish it to be run for neatness.
Call Comp Cams for a cam recommendation.
Go to the other forums regarding the axle swap, probably offroad and 4x4. However, do a search first, it's been talked about many times and there's no need to ask how to install one.
