Question Air Pressure

I was wondering what air pressure you'all are running on your rigs w/33" tires.
I would like to know so I can get maximum life out of mine. What about rotation?
How often do I need to do one? Thanks in advance for the help.

Follow the psi recommendation on the sidewall. Rotate every six months.

I run about 45 psi on my 33's. And have them rotated about every 5,000 miles.

Thumbs up Tire pressure and such

I run 40psig unless towing the gooseneck, then to 50 ppsig. I rotate every 3-4,000 miles due to the amount of time spent in the mud. I almost alway loose a weight between rotation/balancing. I have 26,700 on the Liberator All Terrains I'm running and they are not 1/2 worn out at this time. I've been very happy with the performance. When the 3/4 ton alxes are installed in Project Bronco I intend to run the same tire setup as my F250 and due to the weight difference I hope to improve on the longevity which is quite acceptable.

The number on the sidewall is the maximum allowed pressure, and more often than not, the recommended pressure is less than that. Since the recommended pressure is 35/41 PSI (front/rear) for 235/75R15 for a '95, you probably don't need even that much with most 33" inch tires (exc. the 33x9.50) under most circumstances. Personally, I run 40/40 front/rear with LT235s.

An old trick I have used for years is to draw a 1 inch wide strip across the tire tread with regular chalk. Drive the truck straight a hundred feet or so and look at the strip. If its gone in the center your overinflated a bit, if center is ok but sides are clean your underinflated. Adjust pressure until you have an even amount of chalk removed across the tire.
Pressures will vary with tire construction, wheel width and load carried in your rig.

I've been running 31psi on my 33 BFG, Doesn't it rid rough anything higher than that? Guess I could try it. I also use auto balancers with mine so I never have to balance my tires and it rides soooo smooth.

Okjust bumped mine to 40psi front and back, ride was a little rougher but not much, steering was lighter and quicker response, take off seemed lighter (less resistance) as well. So I'm keeping them at 40psi and will see how that works out for tire wear.

Thanks for starting this topic for I would have never thought, oh and I bet my gas mileage improves some as well.

I am running BFG AT's right now in 31x10.5, and I keep 36 in the front and 34 in the back......depending on how much junk I have in there then I will bump up the back a bit as needed.

I rotate and balance every 6 months, and have a alignment done once a year.
