I own a 95' PSD. I am looking for a good quality clutch, bearing, slave, and flywheel. The truck will be driven normally (not pounded on) with the exception of pulling a 9,000 lb. fifth wheel occasionally. Can anyone suggest a GOOD clutch that is not rebuilt and is USA built? Mark
Can't go wrong with OEM from the dealer. It will cost more, but you know it will not let you down. Luk makes the OEM Ford parts, so if it's cheaper directly from Luk, go that route.
You also really want to think about switching to a single mass flywheel in that truck, as the dual mass flywheels had problems. Search the diesel forum for this; you'll get a lot of hits.
Yep, Luk makes the factory clutches. They even make the clutch disc for the centerforce products. I have a centerforce dual friction, said Luk right on the disc.
As for bearings, just get a timken replacement bearing, throwout and pilot. You may want to replace the master cylinder, and hydraulic line while your at it.
The hydraulic line can get clogged up with gunk because people never change their fluid. It can cause a hard pedal and difficulty in clutch operation. It prevents the proper hydraulic pressure from reaching the clutch slave. Atleast take a look
