460 gas?

460 gas?
probably sounds dumb, but I'm new to the 460. i'v read a few threads on the "gas" issues. Sounds to me that the early 460's require an additive or something to run properly. I'v just put a 78 460 into my f 250. do i need to run the higher octane gas? add additives? or can i just use regular gas? the 460 has no mods of any sort.
