Hello everybody ! Hi I'm Mason and I have a new project. A 55' F100 that has been in the family for the last 35 years. Right now it has a 292 V8 in it and a little dinky 2bbrl Holly or even a Stromberg carb on it. Has a Ford logo and ECG stamped on it and thats all. My Dad has benn using a Part# 2100 carb rebuild kit to re-build it all these years. But I have 2 other manifolds for the 292, one for a "real" 2bbrl and one for a 4bbrl carb. I need a little help with what kind of carb. to choose as it's still has the manual choke (truck is basically original) except for the 292, which will be converted to a 351C w/a C-6 Trans. I just need to get it going for the mean time till I have the funds as I plan on using the truck for a daily driver as I do the work in progress.

Hi Mason, welcome aboard!
You probably have the Holley 2110 2-barrel carb on the 292. Are you trying to rebuild it to get the truck going? If so, I have two manuals in digital form I can e-mail to you. As you probably know, based on your dad's experience, the rebuild kits are readily available.
What other issues are there to get it going? Set up your gallery with some pictures so we can see your project.
I run a 351C in my 56. A C6 is a great tranny, but is overkill for a 351C. The C6 can handle a lot more horsepower, but at a premium power loss. Look into and FMX, if you want a 3-speed tranny. An AOD would be the best of all worlds. You can run lower rear gears (3.50-3.83) for the grunt around town and use the 4th (overdrive) gear to run at 2500 rpm for 70 mph highway driving.
