Couple questions (99 F150, V6, 131k Miles)
It's been a while since I have been on here, I guess that is a good thing...
I have a few questions.
1) To clarify... I should user Motorcraft spark plugs correct? I think I have bosch in my truck now.
2) What are the things I can look at to solve a rough idle problem? I do regular maintenance, fuel filter was changed. I think at one time I had an error code pop up regarding my EGR valve. Could an old EGR valve yield a rough idle?
3) I have 131k miles... After doing the routine maintenance... What are some of the other smaller repairs I can do myself to keep my truck running good?
Thanks in advance for your time...

1) Ford's like either Motorcraft or Autolite plugs the best. Use Double Platinum.
2) Plugs, Plug Wires, clean the IAC and MAF, check for vacuum leaks. An EGR valve that is not closing all of the way can cause a rough idle. It could have too much carbon build-up.
3) Change the PCV valve, air filter, tranny fluid, fan belt and anti-freeze. It wouldn't hurt to change the thermostat too, just to be safe. Wash out the fins in the a/c condensor and radiator to remove dirt, bugs etc.
