I have a 91 F150 with 109k on it. Still runs pretty good, but the trans wants to slip a little in first gear if you get on at all and it will sometimes snap your neck shifting from first to second and even kinda hard from second to third. Fluid level is good, no leaks (none worth mentioning anyway), and no unusual noises. Anyone got any suggestions where to start? I am more of an engine guy than a tranny guy and would appreciate any assistance.

Have your ignition control module tested. Mine did the same thing for a while at low rpm. Turns out that the low rpm circuit was bad and eventually the whole thing went out and left me stranded. You can get the part just about anywhere for around $30.
