1979 F-150 4x4 351m used as a ranch truck. 130,000 miles. Burns a little oil and has the common low oil pressure. It isn't a powerhouse at all, but damn reliable.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 09-Jan-03 AT 11:28 PM (EST)]My Parts Truck (in my gallery) has a 351M bolted to a C6. Not sure what to do with the motor, but I don't think I can leave it in the truck as a lawn ornament much longer! (HA!) Nice sounding motors those 351M's. Mine idles quite smooth and appears to burn no oil. About 98,000 KM's on it. Almost sounds quiter than my Daily Driver that has the little 302 bolted to a C6.

My 78 has a 351M, mileage, oil pressure, and, if it even runs are all unknown... LOL
I'm unsure what to do with the truck, I may just put my 300/NP 435 in there and call it done...

My truck HAD a 351M. Some days I wished I had left it in (it even had good oil pressure!!) but everytime I mash the gas, I remember why I got rid of it.

My 77 F-250 has a 351M with 291,000 actual miles. The truck was purchased new by my dad in early 1977 (built in December, 1976) and I bought it from him in 92. Never been rebuilt - I did replace the original timing chain with a double roller set about 2,000 miles ago.

351M here in my 1979 F150 4X4. It has an Automatic tranny, which I can't decide whether I like , or would rather install a 4spd. Many of my friends have 1970's Ford 4x4's with 351M's. Only one has a 400 and I know noone with a 460 in a 1970's 4X4. I've seen 460's in them, just never been very familiar with them.
