300 head swap?

All,
I have an 80 F-150 with a 300 that I'm going to rebuild. Does anyone know if I can use one of the newer heart-shaped combustion chamber cylinder heads? If not, why? If so, any years/models inparticular that will work?

The newer EFI heart chamber heads will bolt to the 300 block, and all your current intake/exhaust should bolt to them, with maybe a slight modification. As for the head itself not working, there isn't a possibility of that, you will just have to tinker with your timing a little, as this head does have a fast-burn design thats more beneficial with EFI. As for years, anything should swap right on, as the 300 block to head mating surfaces never changed.

Good luck!

Thanks! That's what I needed to know. I'm very familiar with the fast-burn combustion chamber and that is in fact my intent with the head swap. I appreciate the help!
