New Rear Shocks

I'm still waiting for someone who makes a 'faster' shock but not a firmer shock, for the two wheel drive. With my light Reg cab two wheel drive, The firmer Bilsteins are way too rough ridding for a boulevard cruiser like mine. The adjustable Ranchos sound good, but leaving them set on the minimum sorta doesn't make sense.
The Monroes would be nice, but the best priced place I can order them, says maybe late this summer.
I am still hoping someone else will get into the act.

[QUOTE=Ruckus]Hello Chris, I thought the same thing but did not say it. I have heard the FX4 come with a different mounting configuration than others. I wonder what the advantage is and if it is better why did they only did it on the FX4? Any ideas? Thanks![/QUOTE
I suspect they didn't want the cruisers to ride like the log wag, er 4x4 trucks.

I have the 4x4 and it rides so smooth I would not even think about changing shocks, unless I was going to lift it or something better came out. I went with Rancho's on my last F250 and it rode like a F350 compared to the stock shock, even on min. I have learned to be careful about buying heavy duty shocks. Good Luck!

Hi Guys,
Used Monroe Relfex on my last truck, a Chevy which was destroyed in the hurricane last year. I found those shocks not to work as well as I hoped. I only used them on the rear when hauling something kinda heavy, (600 plus pounds), otherwise much too stiff and jouncy. They worked ok with a load. But I did keep them on the front as they stoped the 'pogo' effect on dips. Bilsteins are best for me unless the Edelbrocks will do a better job. I have never used them.

The stock shocks are sub-par. And this is coming from a highway guy. I've already have one leaking at only 11,000 miles and only a very little slamming/blamming of the truck offroad. Right now I'm leaning towards the Bilsteins slightly over the Edelbrock even though both get rave reviews. I'll have to look into the Monroes to see if they come into the running. One thing for sure is those who use the Bilsteins seem to agree they are perfect balance of comfort yet stiff enough to reduce bounce. Since my 3" Truckxxx lift and new X-Terrain tires the shocks are even more revealed to "bouncing". Good luck to all on their choices.

I really want to try the Monroe Reflex but they are WAAAAAAY too expensive.
Gonna just pony for the Bilsteins I guess, I have heard (and bounced) enough
