Question MAX A/C -vs- A/C

What's the difference (other than blower speed) between the A/C setting and the MAX A/C setting? Is one more efficient or fuel thrifty than the other?

What's the best choice to use?

one recirculates the air and one uses fresh air. running on max a/c all the time causes problems because it creates alot of moisture that collects and makes mold on the evaporator.so it is a good idea to switch once in awhile from one to another the freah air will dry out the evaporator.

Right, and the blower speed isn't usually any different, it just seems louder because "Max" is being supplied from inside. (Some systems do automatically switch to high speed blower when in max).

It is also somewhat more efficient because it is re-cooling this inside air. Despite that, it is usually recommended to use "A/C" rather than "Max A/C" after the initial cool down. I think any improvement in mileage would be too small to notice.
