I put glasspacks, well I guess it would be a glasspack, on my '90 F150 with the 300 I6. I'm getting a little more sound than stock, but my cat's restricting my flow so much, it wasn't really worth putting on a glasspack. Anybody else have a huge cat? Mine's at least 3 1/2 feet long. How long are they normally? I just want to know so I can figure out whether the cat is stock or aftermarket.
sounds like a muffler to me ive never seen a 3 and a half foot long cat. and i dont see why somebody would buy a catylitic converter that big or even somebody make one that big because it would restrict so much flow the engine would not be able to breathe
Yeah, It's 2 cats. Unless you are seeing the resonator. But I have 2 cats and a wee lil 12 in glasspack on my '94 300I6 and I also have almost zero sound coming out the pipe. Those cats suck.
I thought the shorter the glasspack the louder. My ex-step brother had a truck with true duals and a 6" glasspack on each and you could hear it for a mile and a half. I know 24" glasspack are pretty quiet because my neighbor has some on his '73 Ford.
I'd take off my cat, but I need it for emmisions. Plus, I don't want my truck really loud, just a little low rumble at the lower RPM's, which I have now, to an extent.
