A powermodule is like a computer chip, except that for a ford you have to buy a module, Jett and Hypertech makes em. I don't know if they make one for the I6, but I am guessing that the do.

I have the SuperChip Module added to my 4.9L. It overrides the existing ECM. So that would be considered the power module??
