Hello everybody. You might know me from other sites like fill in the blank? I pick up a 1954 F100 P/U about 10 years ago. I still have not did anything with yet. I bought a 1970 Lincoln Mark 3. I want to transfer the drivetrain from the Mark 3 to my p/u. If anybody has any info on this swap would be greatly helpful.
jay54f100 Welcome, nice to see a an older truck person. These years are among my favorites. I have a 56 Mercury M100 that has a front clip from an 80 Mercury car, that was not that easy to do and a lot of hours. I had a friend do it for me as he had the experince necessary. Another option is to use the frame/suspension as is and put the mounts in as required. You will be giving up the better handling/braking/steering but it is alot easier and quicker for the begining rodder with limited experince such as myself. If the front end is in good shape/rebuilt it can be a decent driver with power steering and power brakes added later. Have fun and enjoy one of the nicest trucks ever designed!
