Ci-4 Plus At My Regular 5k Mi. Changes. My Question To You
Geniuses Out There Is; Should I Use The Delo For This First Oil Change During This Break-in Period? Or Is It Too Slick To Seat The Rings Properly?

In my opinoin NO. Delo is not too slick for the breakin. But, you should get that engine working with a load within the first 2000 miles or so.

I didn't switch to Delo400 until the second oil change. First oil change was at 1500 miles. Then I changed that out with Delo400 at 5000. 5000 mile intervals ever since. My 6.0 does not smoke and averages 17mpg rural/city with a best of 20mpg on the freeway. Only 14mpg towing my 25' camp trailer across northern Washington to Idaho and back. Head winds both ways on the plateau and all of the passes. Plenty of power and I never notice any smoke. So after 15,000 miles I'm sure all rings are seated well.

I know fleet trucks that start life with Delo400 and go a million miles on an engine.
